Crassula ovata is a long-lived, woody succulent that builds character slowly — stems thicken and branch over years into a satisfying miniature tree laden with glossy, dark green leaves. It handles dry indoor air and irregular watering without complaint. In a bright enough spot through winter it may produce small clusters of pale pink starry flowers.
