Pig's Ear is a sturdy, upright succulent with large, paddle-shaped leaves in pale grey-green edged with a thin red-orange line that sharpens in full sun. The whole leaf surface has a powdery coating that gives it a frosty, almost bleached appearance. In summer it sends up tall stems carrying clusters of pendulous tubular orange-red flowers.
