Bear's Paw is immediately recognisable — its chunky, velvety leaves are tipped with small reddish-brown teeth that look convincingly like tiny claws. The whole plant has a soft, furry coating that makes it tempting to touch. It grows upright and branching, and in spring produces pendulous bell-shaped flowers in deep orange that hang from tall arching stems.
